
Leona Louise Lewis (born on April 3, 1985) is a British singer, songwriter actor, activist and actress. Born in the London Borough of Islington, she attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis received national recognition when she was awarded the third season of The X Factor 2006 and got a deal worth PS1,000,000 with Syco music. The winner's song, an original cover to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" reached #1 for four weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke an all-time record of 50k digital downloads in thirty minutes. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in February 2007. The success of Lewis continued after the album release of her debut Studio album Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and was subsequently the fourth best-selling album of the 2000s as well as one of the albums that sold the highest in UK chart record-setting. According to the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the top-selling album of the 21st century. album by a female debut. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" and remained for seven weeks on high on the UK charts, was the most-sold single in the year 2007. The track was also among the top-selling during 2008, and Lewis earned the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. In 2009 she released her sophomore studio album, Echo, and recorded the song that served as the soundtrack, "I See You" from the movie Avatar. Lewis' song "Collide" has been a collaboration between Swedish DJ Avicii and she also released Hurt the EP, her first play that was extended. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis the release of her the third album of her studio. It was an intriguing new style. Lewis draws inspiration from electronic and dubstep music. The singer began recording material for her first Christmas album on the Glassheart Tour, which took to the stage in the mid-2013 timeframe. In the following year, Christmas with Love, which featured the lead single "One more sleep" it reached the top three spot across the UK. The chart's chart position resulted in Lewis one of the very first British single female singer to achieve the top fivespot, with eight singles.
